Our purpose

ContractorRegGuide turns state contractor registration and trade-license requirements into readable guides for U.S. contractors and small construction businesses. The site is an independent publisher, not a government agency or filing service.

Source hierarchy

Requirements, fees, bond amounts, insurance minimums, renewal periods, and official forms are checked against government agency pages, statutes, administrative rules, or official forms. Commercial provider pages are not used as the primary authority for legal requirements.

Verification and updates

• Material facts are stored with their official source URL and last-verified date.
• Conflicting official sources are identified rather than silently reconciled.
• Guide pages display source links and verification context.
• High-risk facts are scheduled for periodic review.

Commercial independence

Advertisers and affiliate networks do not approve our factual conclusions or receive preferential treatment in official-source comparisons. Compensation does not change whether a product is mentioned, how a state requirement is described, or what a reader pays.

Affiliate placement

Affiliate links are used only where a third-party product or service is relevant to the reader's task. Commercial links are distinguished from official agency links, and applicable disclosures appear near the recommendation or elsewhere clearly on the page.
